Polish composer, performer and improviser Raphael Rogiński has made a name for himself as one of the most unique guitarists in the world, acclaimed for his solo recordings and performances which draw on different styles, from folk and blues to jazz, classical music and beyond. For Unsound Osaka, he will perform music from his 2015 album Plays Coltrane and Langston Hughes, reissued by Unsound in 2024 to great acclaim. The album slows down and radically interprets works from legendary saxophonist and bandleader John Coltrane, as well as creating compositions incorporating texts from poet Langston Hughes, one of the leading figures of the Harlem Renaissance.
