"The voice is the most beautiful and resonating instrument," Antonina Nowacka said, describing her third solo album, 'Sylphine Soporifera'. And it's her powerful voice that the Polish sound artist and composer has harnessed to anchor her revered run of albums, retreating to a cave in Indonesia to develop 'Lamunan' and applying Hindustani vocal techniques to '70s new age backdrops on its kaleidoscopic follow-up. This year, she supplemented 'Langouria', 2023's Mondoj and Unsound-released collaboration with Danish artist Sofie Birch, with 'Hiraeth', an album of yearning back-to-basics daydreams written in the Polish countryside and recorded straight to reel-to-reel tape.
