The duo project of goat (JP)'s Koshiro Hino (aka YPY) and cellist Yuki Nakagawa, KAKUHAN - which means "stirring" in Japanese - emerged in the early 2020s after an impromptu improvised recording session. Hino and Nakagawa had performed together plenty of times before, but this set was deeper in its own way, a borderless fusion of traditional and contemporary sounds, of jerky club rhythms and classical elements best heard on their debut album 'Metal Zone', released on Hino's own NAKID label. Polish experimental musician Adam Gołębiewski first convened with KAKUHAN in 2023 and his dynamic percussion - refined during performances with a litany of artists, including Yoko Ono, Kevin Drumm, Mats Gustafsson and Thurston Moore - provided a compelling new dimension to the band's sound. Their collaboration is now captured on the album Repercussions – out on the Unsound label – with the Osaka show serving as its official launch.
